Getting to Concordia

Directions from the train station

If you’re travelling by train, you’ll arrive in Montreal at Gare Centrale. It’s about 20 minute walk from the train station to campus or a 6 minute taxi (costing around $8.00 CAD).

Directions from the airport

Flights arrive at the MontrĂ©al-Trudeau Airport (YUL), 22 kilometres west of downtown. There are several ways you can get to the conference centre from the airport.

By public transport

The Montreal Centre-ville 747 Express bus runs 24 hours a day between the airport and downtown Montreal. There are two routes which you can take:

Destination Centre-ville/Downtown (recommended)

This route will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Take this bus till the stop Guy / RenĂ©-LĂ©vesque. From this stop, it’s about a 7 minute walk to the conference centre, in the J.W. McConnell Building, on Concordia’s SGW (downtown) campus.

Destination Terminus Lionel-Groulx

This route will take you to Lionel-Groulx metro station in roughly 25 to 35 minutes, depending on traffic. Once at the station, you can take the Green line in the metro station (direction HonorĂ©-Beaugrand) to Guy-Concordia, located in the heart of Concordia’s SGW campus. Once having exited the metro station, the conference centre will be approximately 2 minutes away on foot.

The fare for the 747 bus is $11.00 CAD and gives you 24 hours of unlimited travel through the STM (la SociĂ©tĂ© de transport de MontrĂ©al) bus and metro network. You can pay this aboard the bus using Canadian coins (bills and other methods are not accepted). Fares can also be purchased (with cash, debit, or credit) from the fare vending machines on the international arrivals area (door 28). There, you can purchase a variety of fares, such as the 3-day pass for $18.00 CAD, which may suit your needs better and will also be accepted on the 747. If you have any questions, you can also ask for help at the STM information desk in the international arrivals area of the airport.

By taxi

Taxi fare from the airport to downtown is approximately $50.00 CAD, payable by cash or credit card.

By rental car

There are a variety of car rental services available at the airport, with costs ranging from around $38.00 to $60.00 CAD per day.

Metered street parking is available throughout the downtown core. The J.W. McConnell Building (LB) has a public underground parking lot, which can be entered from Mackay Street (a one-way street heading south). You may want to check with your hotel to see if they offer parking for their guests.
