Volt-Age is a research program at Concordia University (in collaboration with our partner universities – University of Calgary, Dalhousie University and Toronto Metropolitan University), supported by a $123M grant by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF), a federal government initiative. This program is dedicated to sustainable innovation by integrating cutting-edge technologies in the areas of net-zero buildings, energy storage, smart grids, and transportation electrification. As a research program, Volt-Age works toward a just and inclusive energy transition, with a particular focus on the energy needs of Indigenous communities. The goal is to design sustainable and tailored solutions to help build a decarbonized and equitable future.
